I want to share with you my profound passion for helping you to create a book that you are proud to put your name to. However, I’m interested in far more than helping you to simply write a book. One of the things I support you to do is to create a book that has heart. A book that shares your authentic message in a voice that is a true reflection of the profound work that you do in the world.
My journey to helping you in this way started around about 10 years ago when I co-authored a book that was published by industry leaders Hay House, and was published in eleven languages. I was responsible for the bulk of the writing, as well as securing the publishing contract. It helped the tool that the book was written about to become an international brand.
That was the start of my journey into supporting thought-leaders to have their message received by a mass audience. These days I help thought leaders, particularly in the fields of social evolution and wisdom entrepreneurism, to expand their platform by authentically sharing their message through the written word. Below is the more detailed story behind how I ended up supporting some of the most prominent names in the industry to write a book that they are proud to put at the heart of their platform.
First Book
The first book that I wrote, in 2005, was a niche self-help book on how to overcome a disabling health condition. It was a book written from my heart and, although with the knowledge and understanding that I have now I would say that it was not so well written, it helped to skyrocket my career in inconceivable ways! I still receive messages from readers of the book, over a decade after its release.
What I didn’t realise at the time when I wrote that book is that I’d stumbled upon a number of key concepts that make a book of this nature successful. And although if I wrote it again I would do so with much more style and grace, what I accidentally learned back then forms the center of the work that I do with thought-leaders around the globe today.
My Heart on my Sleeve
Right from the start, my work was fueled by my passion to help others heal and transform in the way that I had. From day one, and even before I had fully healed from chronic and disabling illness, I threw myself into working with the most challenging trauma cases. My specialism came from the belly of my own life experience and I had my sleeves rolled up for a number of years, working down on the ground with severe emotional trauma and serious disease. People brought me the deepest, darkest cases and I saw ‘miracles’ every day. I worked with 911, natural disaster and war trauma survivors. They were people who had experienced the most intense life challenges imaginable. My clients included those with post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as survivors of severe sexual, physical or family abuse.
I was fascinated by the mind-body connection after seeing how healing my underlying emotional challenges had transformed my physical health accordingly. And I watched as countless individuals from around the world released the emotional charge to a traumatic memory and their emotional, physical and psychological diseases began to change too.
The Matrix Reimprinting Book
At the heart of this work was a new technique, Matrix Reimprinting, which was created by Karl Dawson. I connected with Karl before the technique even had a name, and he helped me to heal with it. I knew all along that there was a greater mission than my own healing at stake, so on the very first day that the first self-help book that I had written arrived from the publishers I knew I had to be involved in writing the Matrix Reimprinting book. I took the leap and asked Karl if I could help him write this book too. Doing so was one of the most challenging things I had done to date, but 18 months and a lot of soul searching later, we had a book that was to make Matrix Reimprinting a worldwide phenomena.
We first published the Matrix Reimprinting book ourselves. It was eagerly awaited and selling 1,200 copies in the first month was enough to convince publishing giants Hay House of its marketability. Not only did they sign us, but we ended up with a book that is now in 11 languages and has taken Matrix Reimprinting to all corners of the globe. Seeing my name on the cover of the Japanese book was definitely a highlight for me!
The Worldwide Stage
My whole life I’ve always sought to create the biggest vision from the opportunity presented to me. As well as teaching Matrix Reimprinting all over the world, I created a webinar series that brought thousands of Matrix Reimprinting practitioners and enthusiasts to my living room! It was an extensive 52-week program and participants from countries such as Africa, China, Mexico, Japan, USA, Canada, Europe, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Australia, Singapore, Thailand and India joined me for the weekly show. This experience opened my mind to the understanding that we really are a global audience and from our homes we can we create a ripple effect into the far reaches of the world.
I also found myself delivering talks at conferences and on internet radio shows worldwide too, and was honored to present at Hay House on the same bill as Louise Hay, Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, Cheryl Richardson, Marianne Williamson, and the likes, as well as on the EFT Tapping Summit to an audience of over 100,000.
Waking Up
But there was another layer to my journey that I had not quite anticipated. Because in the throngs of all the success that was happening externally, something else was stirring. I experienced what can best be described as a series of profound awakenings - a dissolving of the conditioned-self. I began to no longer view the world through the filters of my programming, but instead, to experience it more through conscious awareness.
It did not happen over night. The ego has a tendency to cling to old ways and although there were several profound experiences, it took some years for me to integrate and ‘normalise’ them into my daily reality so that it became the predominant place that I lived from. Although I still experience the ups and downs of life, how I perceive these 'bumps' has changed dramatically. This deeply impacts the place that I write and consult from.
Ghostwriting for Spiritual Entrepreneurs
Throughout the whole journey, from publishing a book on a small, independent label all the way through to working with leaders in the field, one of the things that happened was people starting asking me about writing books and publishing. They wanted to know what I knew. And so I started sharing what I knew with others and they started getting publishing deals. I started working with emerging and established thought-leaders and helping them to experience more success in all stages of their writing, from starting out, right the way through to securing a publishing deal. And in doing so, I began to support evolutionaries worldwide to step up and operate from their zone of genius, using their book as an integral part of their platform.
I also share a call for conscious entrepreneurs to expand themselves and their businesses on every level, in a connected way, challenging them and supporting them as we go through this process together. It is my belief that we are happiest when we know our life purpose and we are on track with it. When we are in touch with what fires us and it sits at the heart of every decision we make and everything we do. So the conscious interventions for thought-leaders that you find in my work are created with this intention in mind. It enables the 'movers and shakers' of this world to do what they do best: to fall in love with what they do and to live it and breath it in every moment of their lives.
Current Socio-Political Climate
Although my focus for the past decade has been mainly wisdom-entrepreneurial books, our direction began to change with the election results in 2016. I began to hear a calling to support social evolutionaries - including those who make an impact in racial, sexual, gender, economic, religious and refugee equality - to craft and hone their messages. Really over the past decade my New York based team became experts at crafting both the tone and the content of the message, so our work is currently shifting more in the direction of those with social evolutionary messages. This is the topic of my fourth book, Catalyst: Speaking, Writing and Leading for Social Evolution.
